Accidental PR

Happy Thanksgiving you guys! I remembered to take a picture of the food right is everyone started eating. So I told everyone to stop touching your plates and put everything down so I could take a picture, LOL!

This morning was turkey trot and it was awesome!

I planned to go out slow and easy, and my TomTomkept showing around a 10:12 mile, which is slow and easy for me. I planned to run the whole thing so I needed to go slow. Then, with like a mile to go, I REALLY slowed for a sec and saw that my watch made no change. At which point I realized I was on AVERAGE pace, not current!!! I was running REALLY fast for me!

I PR'd the trot with 31:17. I'd love to break 30:00 consistently some day, but I'm happy with what I'm doing in training!

How did you celebrate Turkey Day?

Marathon Training

It's happening, folks! Something I never DREAMED I'd do.

I signed up for the Cowtown. Like, the FULL MARATHON.

26.2 miles.

So here's the answers to the 3 most common questions on this topic:

Yes, I am crazy

Yes, I know how far 26.2 miles is. And if I ran from my house that far, I'd get to the courthouse in Denton before I stop.

No, I'm no nervous. Because you know what? It's mental, y'all. At least it is if you've trained and for long distances before. And while a Half is not as far as a full (duh), it's still far enough to know that past the first hour, you just keep putting one foot in front of the other. That's all you can do!

A great metaphor for life and for running.

So follow along with me! Want to see how an average working mom handles the time and stress of training? Here we go!

Been a long time!

Well, I decided to hit the restart button today. A long time since I blogged here, and I'm hoping this will maybe keep me on track a little bit. I'm sitting at the heaviest I've ever been. It's kind of one of those things were the last six months of my life have really felt like survival mode, and food and exercise went down the list of priorities. But, I'm the kind of person that knows that there's no secret and you just have to get off your butt and do it, so here we go!

Everyone always says "oh there's no way you're that heavy." The deal is I hide it really well, it all sits in my midsection. That's how I know it's bad because I can also see it in my face and my arms which is not normal for me.

So, I went to the gym this morning and kick some run cardio. Then spent time doing squats and core. Probably overdid it, probably will be pretty tired later, but I actually feel so great right now. I'm weirdly not really out of shape, I'm having no trouble running. But, the extra weight I'm carrying is bothering my knees.

I signed up to be a part of SkinnyMeg's summer challenge and it starts in the morning. I'm doing "if it fits your macros" for food, and a lifting program on Body Space and I did a trial run today just to see. Have to say, went pretty ok!

Weighed in after the big family Vacation today as well and it went better than I expected. No gain! Hooray!!

I love my feet!

So, let's see how it goes, shall we?!
